This year I will be participating in my first ever Holiday Boutique. This little cutie along with many of her 'friends' will be there. It's on Wed. December 2nd from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Anaheim Hills Elementary School. I'm excited to be part of this very worthy event to help raise funds for the school. Come stop by if you can!

Tegan, Bella & Emma

Awwwwww.... some more cuties just went home to their new friends. This pink one is for a cutie pie named Tegan (love that name). The other dolls are for Bella & Emma! So sweet. I've been busy with lots of custom dolls these days.

I'm participating in my first ever Holiday Boutique this year. It's a little nerve racking. I've become pretty darn good at juggling. I must admit, I sure will be happy when my 'to do' list gets a little shorter.

I will also be creating some exclusive pillow designs for a specialty company in Boston. I'm very excited about this new business opportunity. I'll keep you posted.

Back to more dolls!

DRAGONFLY DREAMS!

A sweet little creation for Evi!
This pillow was so much fun. Whew, so glad to see it done though. So much detail went into this one.
November is here and I am hard at work at my sewing machine. The holidays are just around the corner. It doesn't seem possible. Seems like just yesterday I was getting ready for my big Easter Celebration.
Now it's time for family, fun and lots of good food! I feel very blessed!

Falling in love with FELT!

I have been a big fan of wool felt ever since I was a little girl. I'm very tactile. I can spend hours in a fabric store walking up and down the isles just touching all the different materials (strange?...maybe!)

Some the newest items making their way to my shop are my wool blend felt flower hair clips. Super sweet! Here are just a few samples. Hope you enjoy!

Fall is Calling!

Next to Spring, I must say that Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the changing of the leaves (which is barely noticeable in California) but if you look closely you can still see it. The Floss Silk trees are in full bloom with their pink blossoms fluttering in the wind.

I love the smell of scented pine cones and getting ready for Halloween. Something strange happens to me this time of year. I go a little nutty with arts and crafts for the kids. I get in full blown holiday mode, making cupcakes and cookies. I pull out the decorations. Sift through last years costumes and can't wait to see what the kids want to dress up as. It gets me all giddy inside.

With all this said, there is not much time left for sewing. Maybe the wee hours of the night? I'm still amazed that anyone can sleep through my late night sewing fits. I've had lots of dolls, pillows and bears on my cutting table these days. Finally the dolls and SOME bears are done. Here is a sneak peak. Enjoy and HAPPY FALL!

I HAD A DREAM

I've been dreaming alot. Creating not so much... not intentionally, just because life has gotten hectic as it often does this time of year. I finally finished off a stack of dolls. Super cute. Prettiest ones yet! They will make their way to my shop in the next couple of days.

If only there were more hours in the day. Stay tuned!

Summer coming to an end...

Wow... August 19th today, where has the year gone? I can't believe that tomorrow my son officially starts third grade. Seems like yesterday he was just starting pre-school. I get a few weeks of some quiet time with Emma before she starts preschool. I'm looking forward to some girl time alone. In September with them both at school I'll get the chance to work alot more (hopefully). There are lots of creative ideas running around this brain of mine waiting to come out!!!!

Check out these beautiful new fabrics from the FRENCH HAT BOX COLLECTION by Tanya Whelan . Aren't they delicious? Her fabrics are just glorious. I love them all.

This little pillow for Aliza turned out super sweet. Hope she loves it! Maybe one day I will have a camera that will take a decent picture... oh well. I have fabric scraps to remind me =)

Felt, Felt and More Felt!

Something about felt that just makes me a little loopy. Is it the texture? The endless colors? I'm not sure. You can make just about anything out of felt. My latest pins are modified versions of Heather Bailey's pattern 'La Fleur Debris' which I ADORE! So fun and fresh! They are little cupped blossoms that can be worn just about anywhere. I love them pinned on my favorite hat! Where will you pin one?

Bee oooo Weeee OOO.... goes the fire truck! Another felt surprise. A special onesie spoofed up with a fire truck applique. Of course, finished off with ric rac (a vintage staple). Soooo cute!
Both are in my Etsy Store... working on some more dolls this week!

A Little Sunshine In My Day!

I've had so much fun over the past few days. Working diligently on this little lion pillow for sweet Allison.

When she asked me to create this little guy I wasn't sure where this adventure was going to take me. Pleasantly surprised I found myself getting so wrapped up in all the little details. Look at those whiskers. This little lion couldn't hurt a fly. I nick-named him Sunshine (Sunny for short).

I'm sad he's leaving my workroom, but happy he's making his way home to Seamus. I hope someday soon I hear the story of him snuggling up to his sweet little pillow.

Girls In My Garden

There are some girls in my garden... at least for a brief moment. I spent the entire week working on these beauties while the kids were off at day camp. So sweet. I have a hard time parting with them. Sometimes I wish I were 5 again. Just to sit and play with them all day!
Not sure what's next. I think i'm moving on to felt flower pins. I love felt.

Fly Home Little Birdie!

This was a custom pillow created just for baby Aaren... love that name! His mommy sent me the sweetest pictures of his nursey. All different shades of blues and yellows and yummy greens.

This little birdie was just about to take flight. Once I had him laid out and pressed, that's when the real magic happened. The stitching is very time consuming, but watching this bird come to life is so much fun!

I can't wait to see what his mommy Stacy thinks! I hope she loves it as much as I do! Fly home little Birdie!

A great day for pictures!

My sweet Emma Rose. She is growing up so fast. I wish time could stand still. Here she is modeling one of my 'beautiful blossoms'.

Emma and Spencer had so much fun running around Oak Canyon Park. It's such a beautiful place. I had to share this fun pic of them on the bridge.

This was such a fun day! Finally some sun after weeks of 'May Grey". I've been wanting to have my products professionally photographed. The oportunity finally was there... here are some cute pics from the day...enjoy!

SWEET GIRLS

I'm in love...I just can't stop making these dolls. They are so sweet, soft and cuddly. Each one has a personality all it's own. I think the thing I enjoy most is creating their hair style. Felt is so much fun!

They will be in my Etsy Store this weekend along with some new bibs. I wish there were more hours in the day. I have so many ideas in my head.

Enjoy these cuties!

Camile & Chloe

Meet Camile & Chloe. Two friends who are as close as sisters.

I can remember sitting for hours watching my mom sew these intricate dolls as a child...how she had the patience? These dolls are much more simple, but equally fun to make. I've had this pattern lying around for a very long time. I've never made dolls but boy I'm in love! It's so fun picking out the fabric for their clothes and choosing the color of felt for their hair. I want each one to be unique. It will be interesting to see how that all comes along.

PILLOW TALK

I've been busy lately...and I'm not complaining. I love creating, especially when it's my nostalgic name pillows. These are the latest . I'm so inspired by fabric. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I see a new collection of fabrics. It's actually pretty funny. I think little Emma is catching the 'fever'. She ooohs and ahhhs too. I hope someday soon I can pass on my love of sewing, just like my mom did for me.

A special thanks to Kathy for allowing me to create these one of a kind cuties for her three nephews. I don't often get the chance to work with retro boys prints, so this was A REAL TREAT! Thanks Kathy. I hope your nephews truly love their new pillows. I had so much fun creating them. These are some of my all time favorites.

I've got alot of new designs lingering in this brain of mine. The house is quiet so I'm going to take advantage and get back to the cutting table. :)

A PILLOW FOR EMMA

Whew... It's been a while. I have been working on a few new designs for my shop. One being some new baby blocks, still not perfected. I did however get the chance to finally make Emma her brand new pillow. She loves it! What a mix of fun and whimsical patterns. I especially love the zebra print.

I did update my shop with lots of new hair pretties...finally. I'm working on 4 custom pillows at the moment. I'm so excited. I love creating these little cuties. I know children love them just as much as I love making them. Well, off to the cutting table I go!

Everything's Coming Up Daisies

Darling Daisy... in almost every color
possible. She is the sweetest little hair clip around. With her 9 crystals all swirled around a pearl center. What could be sweeter? Emma wants all of them. She's so funny. I'll be listing these in my store along with lots of other Beautiful Blossoms later this weekend. Don't you just love Spring?

A sweet message from Natalie

I got the sweetest little message from Natalie (aka prettybrat) on Etsy. She sent me a note sharing this darling picture of her two girls Kambrie & Kenzlie. Her newest additon is wearing one of my flower headbands. Aren't her girls precious. Thanks Natalie...for making my day!

Lots of Beautiful Blossoms

April 16, 2009

Flowers have always been a passion of mine. Beautiful Blossoms grew out of my own love of flower hair clips. Needing them for my own daughter Emma (now 4) and also wanting to give them as gifts. I love creating new sets. I spend hours searching for the most realistic looking silks.
